Shane O'Driscoll

Shane O’Driscoll is a visual artist from Cork. Primarily a printmaker, the art of balance informs his work. Limited elements ranging from the geometric to the textured are carefully positioned against a flat back-ground. Each motif is distinctive in its own right but it also enhances and resonates with thosearound, creating an element of tension or frisson across the composition. Shane also creates large scale murals in both city and rural settings, which explore the interaction between colour, shape and environment. He has exhibited his work internationally and throughout Ireland. Shane has work in the permanent collection of The National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, Glucksman UCC and UCD. “To realise my work in a series of rugs with the team at Ceadogan has been an amazing experience. Working within this craft and learning about the process has been an eye opening journey. As an artist, it’s always important to move in new directions and this has been such a rewarding experience creatively.”
