This year was shaped by making, collaboration and a deep connection to material and place. Here’s a snapshot of the projects and exhibitions that defined the past twelve months.
DESIGN IRELAND AT ARNOTT’S, DUBLIN

We began 2025 as part of the Design Ireland pop-up at Arnott’s, celebrating Irish design and craftsmanship. The store featured 35 makers across jewellery, ceramics, homeware and accessories, showcasing contemporary Irish design with a strong focus on quality and sustainability. We were delighted to exhibit three rugs featuring designs by Mainie Jellett.
VENICE BIENNALE

In May, we were proud to be part of Assembly, Ireland’s pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, led by Cotter & Naessens Architects. The interdisciplinary project brought together architecture, sound, poetry, woodwork and textiles, with a Ceadogán Rugmakers piece forming part of the multisensory installation. Inspired by the Citizens’ Assembly, Assembly created a shared space for listening, reflection and collective experience.

IRISH DESIGN WORKS AT BALLYMALOE GRAINSTORE

During Irish Design Works at Ballymaloe Grainstore, we launched our new Bréidín collection, developed using locally sourced materials and collaborations. Our Vesuvius rug was reimagined with a tweed-like texture, alongside alpaca and Galway wool runners and rugs. We also presented a range of Ceadogán linen cushions, sewn in New Ross using Wexford linen and filled with upcycled wool off-cuts from our hand-tufted rugs—an entirely natural and locally made addition to the collection.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas from the team at Ceadogán.
